Welcome to Aft Backwards - the new sensation in nautical decor for your home, business, boathouse, dock - anywhere!

Initially created for friends and family, we are now making our unique product available to all.  If you own a boat, or just enjoy the water, you know the indescribable feeling of a beautiful summer day, sitting on the dock, looking out at your boat.  Now you can experience that same great feeling all year long.  Just provide your boat name, then select your custom colors, lettering and hardware.  We will then hand craft a unique, collector’s quality replica of your boat transom.   They can be placed in your home bar, rec room, pool house, or outdoors.

This versatile product is not limited to just your boat name.  Our products are great for putting in your place of business.  We have made our unique, copyrighted art with restaurant and bar names, restaurant food and drink menus, marina names and for business reception areas.  You can use the name of your beach cottage or river home.  They can be used to customize your boathouse or the end of your boat dock to make your property easily recognizable to your friends traveling by water. 

The construction of this product is truly unequaled.  We begin with a solid wood board, then coat it with auto finish quality paint in our state of the art painting facility.  Co-owner Phil Dent  brings thirty five years of auto painting experience to the company, and has been the recipient of many first place honors for his custom work.  The result is a tailor made finish that cannot be imitated.  We finish with custom lettering and authentic boat hardware to complete this one of a kind artwork. 

There are three styles to choose from.  First, we offer our Original Series in three basic colors: white, black and yellow, although additional colors can easily be ordered.  Next, we have our Wave Series which begins with an extraordinary marbleized finish, made to order with your color preferences.  Finally, we are proud to offer our Signature Series, created by an inspiring local Fredericksburg artist, Mirinda Reynolds.  Mirinda has jumped aboard to offer realistic, hand-painted faux finishes and murals as well as special request paintings.
